Ambu is a Danish MedTech company and the world leader in single-use endoscopes. With around 5,000 employees across four continents, its endoscopy, anaesthesia and patient-monitoring devices are relied on by millions of patients worldwide.
Besides being a pioneer within the field of medical equipment, Ambu is deeply committed to measuring and reducing its emissions and is part of the Science Based Targets initiative.
As a large, complex, multinational company, Ambu’s CO₂ data sits in different systems and arrives in huge volumes, and an annual GHG inventory covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 is a major undertaking.
In preparation for integrating new carbon accounting software, Ambu partnered with Viegand Maagøe to automate dataflows and workflows and perform calculations.

As a result of the project, Ambu has the set-up and tool in place to efficiently carry out quarterly emission calculations with the needed transparency and granularity. The tool today is fully embedded and operated by Ambu’s data and sustainability experts.
